Ati Radeon Hd 4850 Rv770 Drivers For Mac

Just took delivery of my new HD 4870 video card today. I installed it in my Early 2008 Mac Pro and booted up. I got a picture no problem on one monitor, but nothing on the other. Furthermore, the display perfpane was missing a lot of controls, like Arrangement and Detect Displays and whatnot.

ATI Catalyst 9.1 WHQL driver release for the ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2. Article Number: 41786. This driver resolves the following issues: Provides Catalyst 9.1 WHQL. I have some problems with the Card Video ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB for my imac late 2009. This problems arrive when i see a video on firefox ( i didn't test in other browsers or application), my mac stop work and i have to restart it only with the back key off. I can start my mac only in safe mode. In this mode a lot of drivers don't start the.

I did a bunch of rebooting and swapping of cables, and determined that both the mini-display port and the standard DVI connection will drive a monitor. However, if both are plugged in, the only active display is the one plugged into the mini-display port, and there's no option to setup the secondary display. So I booted into bootcamp, and it automatically recognized both display ports, and mirrored my desktop on both monitors.

I downloaded and installed the latest windows drivers, rebooted the machine into windows once more, and was able to configure a multiple monitor display with no problem. This tells me it's not the card and it's not the motherboard. Booting back into mac OS, I discovered that it doesn't even recognize that the card has video ram. It thought I had no video ram in the system. So, this all leads me to the conclusion that Apple shipped me a card that it has not yet provided driver support for. Hey Apple, can I have my 4870 display driver now?

Like you, I received my HD 4870 XT2 yesterday. My first try was to plug it above my actual HD 2600XT. Both cards were recognized by Leopard 10.5.6 but no output from the DVI outputs of the 4870! Second try, I removed my original 2600 and plug the 4870 into slot 1. Now I had my primary display working but I don't have any miniDVI adaptor to test the second output. Aperture, Final Cut Express and my OpenGL favorite software 'Starry Night Pro Plus' don't work at all!

Final Cut Express complain that it need at least 64M of VRAM and that my video card have only 0Mb! After having called Apple service, we found out that all these softwares use either OpenGl or Quartz Extreme. By looking at the System Informations -> Graphic card / monitors, we can see that the 'Quartz Extreme' is not supported!

The technician suggested me to call ATI for a possible driver before they exchange my card. So this morning, on the WEB, I was looking for a driver in Google, and here I am!

I am myself a technician and a UNIX admin. I chose Apple because over the time I found the Plug & Play they offer very attractive. After having almost finished my animation movie, I chose to upgrade my video card to the most powerful one available for my Mac Pro. My first frustration was to wait 4 to 6 weeks before the delivery.

Now that I have it, after 'only' 4 weeks, I have to say that I am very frustrated to realize that Apple accepted to sell me a product not even yet supported by their most recent OS! Command Apple.
